Scrappin' Saturday!!

Bulletin Board at my church
Welcome to Scrappin' Saturday!!

Today I mainly worked on my Pazzle...are you wondering what a Pazzle is?  It's a Pazzle Inspiration...an electronic cutting system that uses the computer to cut...well, just about anything you want!!  My husband's cousin, who just happens to be our church's secretary, called me and asked me if I knew where she could buy letters for a bulletin board.  BUY letters???  Hmmm...no, but I can cut you want you want!  So, she told me what she wanted to spell, and I chose a font, size and cardstock color, and cut them out for her!  The picture above is her finished bulletin board...looks great, doesn't it?  I use my Pazzle ALL THE TIME!!  I can cut cardstock, chipboard, even make my own vinyl signs and decals!
So sadly, between cutting these letters and prepping for my class Monday night, I didn't get alot of scrapping done.  But I was still creating....

Thursday's Tip!!

Welcome to Thursday's Tip!!

Today I am sharing how I store my flowers...I don't have alot of Stampin'Up flowers, so those are just kept separate in one of the large containers.  But my non-SU flowers are, yep, you guessed it, stored by color!!  That seems to be the theme for my storage organization!!  I guess, if it works, then go with it!  Plus there's the added bonus of how pretty they look!  I have a Making Memories Scrapbooking Embellishment Organizer that I keep the jars of ribbons in...

Technique Tuesday!!!

Welcome to Technique Tuesday!!
(Sorry...I don't know why this didn't post yesterday!)

Today I am featuring the technique Split Negative....This is a really easy technique, but it makes a HUGE impact!  I like the White / Black contrast, but you could also try other colors!  How about a monochromatic color scheme?

Technique instructions:  Stamp your image on a light colored cardstock first in dark ink.  Clean stamp and then stamp your image on dark cardstock with white or light ink.  I cut both images in half...that way I get two cards at the same time (mirror images).  Line up each side (one side light, the other side dark) and adhere together.  Adhere image to mat if desired!  On my sample, I had the reverse color mat behind the image (black/white) and then adhered the matted image to a piece of red cardstock for contrast!

Thursday's Tip!!!

Welcome to Thursday's Tip!!

Today I am sharing how I store my SU DSP (Designers Series Paper) and other Patterned Paper.

Because I am a Stampin'Up! demonstrator, I DO keep my SU! DSP SEPARATE from my non-SU!  This just makes it easier when I am doing a class or workshop...I can just go to my SU paper holders and pull what I need.

I keep my SU DSP in Cropper Hopper Paper Pouches (some are in the Paper Holders (it holds 4 Paper Pouches) and some aren't).  Each Paper Pouch has a business card holder attached to it and I have the DSP name and coordinating colors listed on.  I also wrote on the card info if the DSP is in a Mini catalog.  This allows me to pull a DSP and know exactly which color cardstock coordinates with it without having to guess or look it up in a catalog!  Very convenient!!  Once a DSP retires, I just move the Paper Pouch to my "retired" cube and if I don't have alot left, I'll move the rest of the DSP and info card to a Paper File (thinner version of the Paper Pouch).

I keep my non-SU Patterned Paper in a couple of different ways...most is sorted by color (again, that is the way I "think" when I scrap), but I do have some sorted by THEMES.  I have a Paper Holder for each color and inside each color I have a Paper Pouch for scraps.  The Paper Pouch also separates my cardstock (on the right) from my Patterned Paper (on the left).

Paper File that holds scraps of both Patterned Paper and Cardstock
My "THEMED" paper is also stored in Paper Holders or Paper Files (yeah, I should own stock in Cropper Hopper!)...I have Birthday and Christmas -- since I have ALOT of these, I have an entire Paper Holder for each.  Then I have Paper Files for Sports, Animals, Sympathy, Baby, Specialty Papers (like Vellum, Transparencies, etc)...you get the idea.  I also have a Paper Holder for each Season with 4 Paper Files in each (one for the season and one for each month) -- like for Winter, I'll have a Paper File for Winter, December, January, February...I'll keep paper with a winter theme in the Winter Paper File, December's Paper File will hold any holidays that happen in December (except Christmas since I have an abundance of that) like Hanukkah, Kwanza, etc, January will hold New Years Papers and February will hold Valentine's!  This makes it easy to find papers for a particular theme or holiday!

I hope my tips are helping you with any storage or organizational issues you may have...my solutions will not work for everyone, but hopefully it will get you thinking and help you find the best way for YOU!!  If there is something you need help with, please feel free to contact me and I will try to help you determine a solution that will work!

Technique Tuesday!!!

Welcome to Technique Tuesday!!

Today I am featuring the Dryer Sheet Technique that I will be demonstrating at my Technique University class on Monday, October 24th.  Yes, I said DRYER SHEET!!  and a USED one at that!!  I think it is perfect for winter scenes or for a muted effect!  Adding Dazzling Diamonds makes the image sparkle!!

Technique instructions:  · Stamp your image on neutral colored cardstock and color in if desired.  Run the image through a Xyron upside down or use spray adhesive (or any adhesive that will cover the entire image) on the front.  Apply a USED dryer sheet to exposed adhesive.  Trim dryer sheet and pour Dazzling Diamonds over it.  Rub glitter into dryer sheet.  Tap off excess glitter and finished image to your card.
