FINALLY DONE!!

I had a friend whose mom passed away in 2008....shortly after, I was asked to create a Memorial Album for her.  Because my (s)craproom is in the process of being organized and I have no where to sit down and scrap, I've been working on this Memorial Album whenever I went to crops.  Well....I finished it this past weekend while as a National Scrapbooking Day crop in NC!!  (Actually I ALMOST finished it....I had to add a couple of embellishments and do the front page!)  These are just a few pages from it!  I really hope he likes it!

But this is the really eerie thing....I've been searching for an album....started out with a 6x6 (too small), found a beautiful 12x12 (too big).....the day before I was to leave, I went to Michaels to get some extra adhesive and found the PERFECT album...and I even had a 50% off coupon!  So I got to NC and took the album out to show my cousin.  She chuckled and asked me if I had enough paper...confused (we were cropping at a scrapbook store and I had a whole container full of what I brought), I said yes, I thought I had plenty.  She just laughed and told me that if I needed more, I could use her's...and proceeded to pull out a paper pad that MATCHED MY ALBUM PERFECTLY!!!  I also need to add that she only brought 2 paper pads with her....What are the odds????  Anyway, I'm forever thankful to her!  By having all the same line of paper, it made putting the album together much easier!  love you cuz!

I did use some Stampin'Up products...the bird punch, ribbon, ribbon slide, brads, and inks!

Time for another card....

Time for another card for my monthly card swap for NC...this time the theme was Men's Birthday Card.  I found this "wallet" card online and thought it would be perfect...so I made my own.  This card was made using brown cardstock (I used several different shades creating my 12 cards...I'm trying to use up the SU retiring colors!) (Close to Cocoa (retiring in July, item # 101341; Chocolate Chip (item # 102128; Soft Suede (item # 115318) , the Modern Label punch (Item # 116630), a couple of Antique Brass brads (item # 109109) and the Tiny Mosaic embossing folder from Cuttlebug.  The inside has a couple of "pockets" to insert your greeting and/or a gift card, and the wallet actually "opens" and you can put a check or money inside.
If you are interested in joining a monthly card swap, let me know!!  They are a lot of fun and an excellent way to build up your card stash!

DON'T FORGET...SATURDAY IS THE LAST DAY FOR PAYMENT FOR MY ENVELOPE MINI SCRAPBOOK PROJECT!  I only have a few spots left....so hurry and save your spot!

Remembering VA Tech today...

Just wanted to remind everyone to take a minute today and think about the 32 Hokies that lost their lives 3 years ago.....

My niece was a freshman at Va Tech when this tragedy occurred and I THANK GOD everyday that she wasn't hurt!!

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends (and the students at VA Tech) of the 32 that died that day. Rest in Peace!

Color Renovation!!!

Stampin' Up has revealed some exciting changes to us!  I can't wait to play with the new colors and am so excited about the returning IN Colors which have many of my favorites that I have missed. Read on...
At Stampin’ Up!®, color is part of our identity. It’s fundamental to our ability to create and be creative. That also means that it’s important for us to be able to stay up-to-date with the trends in color to keep your artwork fresh and exciting.
That’s why we’ve worked hard to present you with the Color Renovation—a refreshing, updated color palette! The new color collections combine current colors with 10 RETURNING IN COLORS (Baja Breeze, Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Rich Razzleberry, Riding Hood Red, River Rock, Soft Suede, Tangerine Tango and Wild Wasabi) and 5 NEW COLORS (Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso).  Also, our current Kraft color will be renamed Crumb Cake and will have ink, markers and accessories to match.
These luscious collections give you new and vibrant choices, keeping your papercrafting passion original and exciting. Mix and match for your favorite combinations, and make the Color Renovation work for you!   Our gorgeous new color collections will be available to everyone with the new Stampin'Up catalog beginning July 1 .... if you are a DEMONSTRATOR you get to order them early!  Not a demonstrator yet?  FIND OUT MORE info about joining my team!
Now that you’ve seen the new color collections, you probably have a favorite color—or several—that you’re sad to see go. But look at the bright side, you have plenty of time to get all the ink and paper you think you’ll need before your favorite colors are gone. And I will be showing you lots of beautiful new samples with new color combos that I know you will love!
Another change is that the Craft Stampin' Pads will only be available in full size pads in Black, Whisper White and Very Vanilla and the Stampin' Spots.
The chart below shows which colors we will bid a fond farewell to at the end of June 2010.
